Our Leadership

I (Roy) received my call to pastoral ministry as an undergrad at UCLA.  I graduated in '99 with a B.S., and then attended Talbot Seminary in La Mirada, CA where I received a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology in Bible Exposition.   I served as the Christian Education director and the college pastor for six years at The Garden Christian Fellowship in Chatsworth, CA.  I was ordained as a minister of The Missionary Church in September, 2008.  Jill, my wife, has degrees from Biola University, Fuller Theological Seminary, and Cal State Northridge.  She works as a career counselor at the University of California Riverside.    

Jill and I are not natives to Riverside.  However, God brought circumstances together, as only He can, and we now call it our home.  We have since grown to love Riverside.  When we're not busy with ministry, we're busy enjoying, feeding, and cleaning-up after our one year old son, and getting ready for our second child.  On the rare occassions we get a break from both ministry and parenting, we like to explore hiking trails by our home, read up on current events, and drive around discovering new parts of the city. 

We're so thankful God has called us to start The Promise Church and serve the people of Riverside.  We're excited to see His promises unfold for our church, the city, and the world.
