Roy Shinn – Pastor, Church Planter
Roy received his call to pastoral ministry as an undergrad at UCLA through a series of both tragic and wonderful events in his life that lead straight to God. After college, he enrolled in Talbot Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology in Bible Exposition. Through most of college and seminary, Roy served in various ministry roles, everything from college pastor to inner city camp director to drummer for the praise band. He served for six years on pastoral staff at The Garden Christian Fellowship in Chatsworth, CA. In the summer of 2008, Roy and his wife moved out to Riverside, CA to start The Promise Church with eight others. He currently lives in Riverside with his beautiful wife, Jill, and two kids, Joshua and Samantha. Roy loves reading up on current events, playing guitar, wasting time with his wife and kids, and being a pastor to his favorite community, The Promise.
